Sheena Duffy joins us to discuss the first arc of the Pokemon Sun & Moon anime, and Pokemon in general. And the return of POCKET MONSIEURS.
Marvyn joins us once again, this time to discuss the first OAV series from the Tenchi Muyo franchise. We all have fond memories of the show, how do they hold up in 2018?
One person asked for it, so the season anime previews are back. Recorded far too early in the month with Lewis Smith, we prognosticate on the upcoming new anime for October and beyond. Hear things that are not only not true now, they weren’t true 2 hours after we pressed stop on the record (thanks Zombieland!).
Lewis Smith joins us as we discuss the Netflix Original from Science Saru, Devilman Crybaby.
Dwayne & Brian mind the fort while Niall’s in Japan. So we take a trip to sunny Lisvalletta, home of upcoming October show DOUBLE DECKER! DOUG & KIRILL. Is it a Tiger & Bunny spin-off? We just can’t say for sure.
Plus: Yokai Apartments, Scary Forests and Failing Exams!
Greg Driver from Ace Comicals joins us to fill three stages full of musical acts that have appeared in anime.
Apologies for some distortion on Brian’s sound – turns out powering the Tascam from USB caused some interference on his microphone. Won’t be doing that again!
Oh boy. It’s been a while since we’ve gone on so many tangents that we forget to provide a synopsis. So I better do one here.
All Soichi Negishi wants to be is a twee indie pop star, but he’s been press ganged into being the lead singer and songwriter for Death Metal Records’ top band, Detroit Metal City. Torn between being a nice country boy and maintaining the persona of the demonic monster Johannes Krauser II, Soichi keeps finding himself in awkward social situations – many of his own making.
However, Anthony has a lot of questions about the world of heavy metal for our guests Greg and Holly, so there’s a lot of that too.
In a tribute to the Dirty Pair, we blew up the first recording of the podcast. And so we have forensically recreated it for your pleasure with DITB’s chief Dirty Pair correspondent, Gary Hedges.
We got impatient and watched the 2017 Takeshi Koike Lupin III outing. Hopefully this weekend Discotek will announce they are releasing it and we can figure out the finer plot details from that.
In the meantime, we discuss the Lupin Laboratory that are these OAVs-come-Movies, and the sheer amount unpleasant wounds contained in The Blood Spray of Goemon Ishikawa.
Also, we talk about our time at Amecon.
It’s been a while, but we finally wrap up our coverage of Netflix’s Little Witch Academia TV series with our good buddies Niall & Dwayne from The Secret Of The Sailor Madness. What does the arrival of an actual antagonist mean for the series? We find out!
