A double dose of fractured fairy tales this week as Vatican Miracle Examiner gets in on Pikotaro’s game with some specially satanic variations of folklore favourites. Plus betrayal in Rage of Bahamut, final exams in My Hero Academia and a boring fight with a sniper in Dragon Ball Super.
Dwayne and Brian are here to guide you through a week’s worth of anime. Pikotaro is in a hole, Chipmunk tries to murder a frog, the Asakura clan plot their next move, Nina goes to a party, reality comes crashing down on Tatara and Sengoku, Roshi takes the fight to Universe 4 and the Vatican Miracle Examiners solve the case, but open a whole can of worms when they find a secret door!
Goku & Hit vs the Pride Troopers? Who will win? Who will survive? And more to the point, what weekly show made Brian throw in the towel and declare his allegiance to 100% Teacher Pascal once more?
Brian and Dwayne hold down the fort for this week’s Let’s Go! And I’m writing this description just before I leave for Kitacon, so that’s your lot!
Pikotaro’s LULLABY LA LA BY arrives and we add it to the Let’s Go schedule. Turns out it’s very timely, with Shonen Ashibe in repeats, Rage of Bahamut on hiatus and another show getting the boot this week. Plus: Magical Girls, Dogs, Wily Old Men and Tin Toys!
Vatican Miracle Examiner is this week’s best anime as the first arc draws to its explosive conclusion. Meanwhile the battle with Stain draws to a close in My Hero Academia, another 7 entrants get eliminated in Dragon Ball Super and a pretty good pun falls afoul of clumsy translation in Bono Bono. All this and more in another episode of Let’s Go, the weekly anime podcast about weekly anime!
This week Dragon Ball Super hits episode 100 and Kale goes berserk. Plus, Stain faces down two of UA’s finest in My Hero Academia, we agonise over an anime-only joke in Guru Guru and try and figure out what we thought of the debuting The Reflection.
Brian has a new mixer, so we’re sounding better than last week. We add Magical Circle Guru Guru to the new anime we’re watching. Vatican Miracle Examiners continues to delight with its schlock. And we talk a lot about a blink and you’ll miss it scene that makes us question whether or not to continue with Made in Abyss. Plus, Stain lays out the law, Krillin takes to the spotlight, Nina and Jeanne go to heaven and Kanemori Steve’s dog tracks down Pascal.
If it wasn’t for the need to keep the continuity of episodes we are covering up, I’d have skipped posting this. We had a bunch of audio problems and then further problems with the recordings. What we have left is the best I could put together. I’ve heard worse, but feel free to give it pass if it’s too annoying.
Anyway, we watched a bunch of new stuff like Vatican Miracle Examiners, Made in Abyss and Welcome to the Ballroom.
The moment we’ve all been waiting for has arrived. The Tournament of Power begins! Way back at the start of February, the Zen-Oh’s decided to have this tournament, and 20 episodes later the first punches are thrown. Meanwhile, Rage of Bahamut Virgin Soul reaches its mid-point as an ancient weapon is unleashed on the Gods. Tiger Mask W takes a victory lap and makes a back door pilot for Masked Tiger Springer. And we discuss the origins of folktales with this week’s Goma-chan.
