Episode 135 – Spring Preview

jojos

First things first, where was last week’s episode? Well it’s still here on my hard drive and there it shall remain for now. It has been deemed unsuitable for human ears. Not for any technical aspect, but for content. So traumatising was that episode that it laid Anthony low with a terrible illness and he couldn’t make it to our Spring Preview.

A call went out across the internet, who could join Brian and Bradley to look back over the Winter season, look forward to the Spring season and play a game of KIDS or CREEPS? One voice answered that call, the man they call SCAMP from THECARTDRIVER.COM

Oh, and there’s an important podcast announcement hidden inside this episode too. ENJOY.

Episode 128 – Anime Villain Poker

Anime Villain Poker

List podcasts! We’ve all heard them, and some of us have even recorded them. But taking our cue from the cruelly shuttered Treehouse, we are now adding the spice of competition to our list shows, beginning with Villains. Brian, Anthony and guests Bradley C Meek and Elliot Page have each created a list of anime villains and will battle it out to see whose list is the most diabolical.

Plus, WATCHUWATCH is introduced with an especially strained pun and our Weekly Retro Recap is episode 1 of Beck Mongolian Chop Squad.

Episode 127 – One Piece Film Z

T0013923p

Bradley C. Meek and Dwayne Moloney join us to ostensibly talk about the 2012 One Piece movie, Film Z. However, Anthony has lots of questions about One Piece, and so it ends up more of a general One Piece discussion.

Plus all the usual features: WATCHUWATCH, Major Episode 2 is our Weekly Retro Recap and a game! This week it’s ANIME ALPHABET.

NB: There’s a few connection problems with Bradley late in the episode due to his housemate watching things on Netflix, but they are mostly confined to the game section.

Episode 124 – 2013 In Review

mako

Bradley C. Meek is back with us for our first episode of the new year, as week talk all our favourite things from the past year of anime. That’s right, it’s an hour and a half of singing the praises of one Mako Mankanshoku.

A few other topics manage to shoulder their way in, including the first Weekly Retro Recap of 2004 – Agatha Christie’s Great Detectives Poirot and Marple.

NB: this was recorded before Episode 12 of Kill La Kill aired. Had we seen it, this podcast might have been us mainly talking about that.

Episode 123 – Winter Preview

hozuki

Bradley C. Meek joins us to preview the first new anime of 2014, while bidding a fond farewell to 2013’s Autumn shows. And to gang up with Anthony on one of Brian’s favourite shows of the past 3 months. It’s not fair, I tell you.

The execrable Mouse is our Weekly Retro Recap and Brian has the gain turned up too high on his new mixer…

Episode 111 – Autumn Preview

flamenco

Bradley C Meek joins us again to look ahead to the forthcoming anime season and look back over the previous one. What shows did we watch and what did Bradley not watch? What are we hoping will be good over the next three months? Find out on a packed DITB.

Plus, Full Metal Panic Fumoffu episode 1 is our Weekly Retro Recap.

Episode 105 – Panel Game 2

ditb105

A couple of days late due to power cut and an anime convention, but it is now here, another all game episode of DITB.

Anthony and Greg take on the transatlantic titans of Bradley C Meek and Aaron Long.

Featuring the following games:

  • Lost In Translation
  • Vic or Trick?
  • I Packed My Con Bag
  • Once Upon A Time In Fictional History
  • If Paul Rudd Was Anime
  • When Did People Give A Hoot About?

Episode 99 – Summer Preview

crowds

This was originally planned to be episode 98, so that our preview would actually preview shows before they started. Alas and alack, that was not to be, but hey, some of these shows haven’t started yet.

Bradley C Meek joins to talk about how our picks from the Spring season held up and what Summer shows we are looking forward to. Plus Texhnolyze Episode 2 is our Weekly Retro Recap, and we have play a round of “When Did People Give A Hoot About?”.

Please leave your comments about how Brian is wrong about Attack on Titan & Flowers of Evil below. And your complaints about how you can hear his loose windshield clunking and clicking through the episode.

That will be sorted out for next week’s glorious 100th episode of DITB!

Mini-Episode 1 – A Letter To Momo and more

ditb086a

Here is half the episode that this episode was meant to be. Due to some technical problems, we lost the part of the episode containing the topic. Well bits of it. Enough to make it unintelligible. Plus Anthony was into week two of his hangover and so it was just me and Bradley again.

Nevertheless, friend listener, you shall not be denied your DITB fix. Here is the opening of the lost episode, reforged into a mini-episode. We talk A Letter To Momo, Gorillaz, Blood C and more.

And we finally have a “lost episode” like all good podcasts have.

Enjoy.

Episode 86 – Spring Preview

ditb086

Anthony was super hungover the day we recorded this so  he’s not on this episode.

Filling in for him is Bradley C Meek. And considering the pair of us make this episode take almost 2 hours, it was probably for the best that there weren’t three of us on the podcast.

First up we talk about all the winter anime we watched, then we look ahead to the spring season shows and what excites us there. And that’s pretty much it.

Apart from the week’s UK anime releases of course, and the Weekly Retro Recap. With Anthony absent can Tomorrow’s Nadja survive another week, or will Brian send it on its merry way? Find out on another fun packed episode of the show twitter calls DITB.
