As we mentioned on episode 200, due to being busy with non-podcast activities, something had to give and so here is the first of our lazy, lazy, list episodes! Niall joins us as we run down our Top 10 anime of 2011. (And try to figure out the format of these episodes!).

These list episodes will alternate with regular DITB episodes when we are able to record. However due to conventions and other commitments, some weeks we’ll run classic episodes or guest spots.

For these list episodes our plan is to go back in 5 year intervals and run down our favourite anime from those years until we can’t. After that? You’ll have to wait and see!

Episode 203 – Goku Midnight Eye

Goku Midnight Eye

Niall joins us for our first episode recorded this year. We talk about the Goku Midnight Eye OAV series from 1989 directed by one of Niall’s favourites – Yoshiaki Kawajiri. Then we try out a new game format that will hopefully eliminate the low scoring games of old in “Earlier, Later Or Spot On”.

This week’s podcast also marks the first time we have recorded straight from the mixer, hopefully it sounds a bit better and hopefully will sound even better once we don’t have colds and fine tune our levels.

Santa got you a podcast! Bradley Meek of the Anime Now! podcast joins Brian, Niall and Dwayne to cast an eye over a selection of Christmas anime episodes from Read Or Die, Azumanga Daioh, Polar Bear Cafe, Golgo 13 and Gintama. Scheduled guest Elliot Page was stuck on a train somewhere, as was Anthony. Different trains though.
