MANV Feud 9: Landlock to Blood The Last Vampire

Here we are, the final MANV Feud as we take things to 2001 and Blood The Last Vampire. If there’s any individual Manga VHS releases (not re-releases or compilations) we missed let us know and we might put out a 10th episode down the line.

MANV Feud 7: Violence Jack to New Gall Force

We’re into the final third of our run down of Manga VHS releases, and here’s where those releases start to feel a little run down themselves. We open with the much cut Violence Jack and end with the final Gall Force sequel, the original having never been released in the UK.

MANV Feud 5: Macross Plus to Patlabor 2

In this episode of MANV Feud, Leon Everett from Ace Comicals joins us as Brian relives, in real time, the confusion of being an anime VHS purchaser in 1995. For this was the year Manga Video released a lot of tapes with confusing numbers in their titles…

MANV Feud 4: Cyber City Oedo to Ninja Scroll

Happy New Year! We are back with a podcast we recorded almost 2 months ago, it’s the fourth instalment of our countdown of Manga’s UK VHS releases with MANV 1049 to MANV 1070. The “Cyberpunk Collection” arrives and we get the first non-anime Manga release.

MANV Feud 3: Fire Tripper to Tokyo Babylon

Lewis Smith is back to help us work our way from MANV 1028 and MANV 1048 as we continue our countdown of Manga Video’s VHS releases. This week we start with the proto-Inuyasha of Fire Tripper and end with the CLAMP psychic detectives of Tokyo Babylon. Plus: the arrival of the man who brought the sort of premium swearing forever associated with this era.

This episode should have come out between Monster City and The Boy and the Beast podcasts, so that’s why some of the references to other episodes seem wonky.

MANV Feud 2: Lensman to Golgo 13

Our chronology of Manga Video’s UK VHS releases continues! This week we count from MANV 1012 to MANV 1027, otherwise known as Lensman to The Professional: Golgo 13. We still don’t know what the Feud in the title is, but as always we have plenty of MANV.

MANV Feud 1: Akira to Vampire Hunter D

It begins! Our chronology of Manga Video’s UK VHS releases. This week Niall Flanagan joins us to count from IWCV 1001 to MANV 1011, otherwise known as Akira to Vampire Hunter D. We still don’t know what, if anything MANV 1010 was, so answers in the comments below. Also, no Feud as yet, but plenty of MANV.
