Between work pressure and sickness, we’ve got a backlog of podcasts to get out from the last month! Here is the first of them, originally recorded 13th May, as Phillip O’Connor joins us to talk all about 2012’s Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine.

Directed by Sayo Yamamoto (Michiko & Hatchin, Space Dandy), with character designs and animation direction by Takeshi Koike (Redline), surely this will be right up our collective alleys? Find out on the podcast and then join in with a game all about hypothetical anime spin-offs~!

It’s a round up of all remaining Cutie Honies this week on DITB as we watch the live action Cutie Honey film from director Hideaki Anno and in the Just Enough To Bluff segment we check in on New Cutie Honey, Cutie Honey Flash and Cutie Honey The Live. Which probably means we are due another Cutie Honey any minute now.

And we round things up with a quick resurrection of our old feature WATCHUWATCH. Which is surprisingly Cutie Honey free!

Episode 175 – The Anime ‘n’ Wrestling Connection (Part 1)

Six weeks late, but just in time for Wrestlemania, we are finally releasing our first Wrestling and Anime podcast. With special guest Bradley Meek from the Anime Now podcast.

Our theme is loosely New Japan Pro Wrestling, and it’s one that works itself very loose as we start with this week’s Just Enough To Bluff topic, 1969’s Tiger Mask and work our way to the barely wrestling related Love Live. With stops along the way for a Go Nagai bio-armour show, a gag episode of a long running anime series and the thing that pays NJPW owner Bushiroad’s bills – card games! Plus we watch some related wrestling matches and of course, play a game.

Part 2 to follow later this year, as we look at Kinnikuman and more!

Episode 174 – Winter Review / Spring Preview

spring preview

It’s time once again to cut open the chicken of anime and examine it’s moe entrails as the seers of the age convene once more to pass judgement on cartoons they are yet to see based on little more than youtube trailers, website art and staff listings. That’s right it’s the Spring Preview.

Joining us today in the soothsayer’s booth are Bradley C. Meek from The Anime Now podcast and Niall Flanagan from Secret of the Sailor Madness.

Episode 173 – Lupin III: The Secret of Mamo

Lots of Lupin for your listening pleasure this week as Aaron Long and Phillip O’Connor join us to discuss Lupin III: The Secret of Mamo AKA The Mystery of Mamo AAKA Lupin III vs. The Clones. And in addition to that, in the Just Enough To Bluff feature, we take a look at an episode of each of the three seasons of Lupin III.

And finally, we wrap the show up with a game of A CLONE AGAIN, NATURALLY.
